About the Photographer
My love for photography begin in high school at Weaver Center. After high school, I spent three years at the College of Charleston studying sociology and photography.
Then I decided I wanted to make photography a career, so I transferred to Randolph Community College where I received a degree in Photojournalism and completed two internships, one at The Post & Courier in Charleston, SC and one at The Sun News in Myrtle Beach, SC. Then it was on to Appalachian State University where a received a Bachelor of Science in Photography and minor in Media Studies.
I spent a summer in Chicago where I did an internship with MTV's The Real World. While in Chicago I meet my beautiful wife Julie, who I convinced to move to Reidsville, NC where I spent seven years as a full-time photojournalist at the Reidsville Review. While at the Reidsville Review I covered everything from high school sports, to three Presidents, to hard news.
I started shooting weddings for friends and just fell in love with it. It is such an honor to document two people in love on one the best days of their lives as they start a new family.
In 2008 I decided to leave the newspaper business and pursue documenting weddings and children full time.
I have won numerous awards including:
-
24 meganet awards for both photography and multimedia

First place for feature photography 2006 in the North Carolina Press Association Annual contest
-
